Wall of Fame
COW-Wrestling.com Wall of Fame is infamous amongst COWcoholics.
The question addressed to me most of the time, is why and how do we choose who has become an inductee?
Answer I can only give without giving away any specific details, is I have a list of all of the COW Wrestlers, and then with that, based on their abilities, number of matches, and willingness amongst those who do vote, to put them in to the Wall of Fame.
Simply put, it is a long drawn out process, consisting of many details and many hours of work. Yes people may not like who has been chosen, and in what order they have been chosen, but there is a method to my madness, but it is something that will not soon be explained.
As a Weird Al Yankovic song says, "and thats all I have to say about that."
Pro Wrestlers
So many pro-wrestlers are "jumping ship" and moing from WWE to TNA and back again, or vise versa. (whatver they please) Anyway, with all of that going on, and being that I haven't regularly watched I am a bit confused, Last time I saw TNA I could have sworn the Dusty Rhodes was there, then I flip on the tv on Monday to watch a bit of WWE and he is there.
When a wrestler moves between federations they make it seem like such a big deal, and that this person had a falling out with this other federation and that is why they went over to the other federation, but what confuses me is why they would go back to the other federation after moving its like bouncing off a wall, and landing on another wall and bouncing back.....gees. When WCW was around I know wrestlers did it then too, but I dont understand why they make a big stink about the wrestler "defecting" and then they leave that federation and go to another, only to return.
How much sense does that make?
Wrestlers linked to Drugs
We all know that wrestlers put their bodies through Hell every day, and even more so when they step into the ring. With a bump landing the wrong way one time, you could break your neck or back, and be in a wheelchair for the rest of your life.
Wrestlers are not unlike any other athlete, they take vitamins and all the sort. And have been linked to steriods as well.
Let me tell you something, steroids are not only linked to wrestlers, not too long ago, they were talking about Barry Bonds and his alleged Steriod use.
With all of the abuse that athletes put their bodies through, some of them are bound to be on many medications at one time, I am not saying anabolic steriods or anything, but some athletes are on a form of steriods to ease back pain. It happens all of the time. While those steriods may not have the "roid rage" effect, you never know. Anyone is bound to snap at one time or another and blame it on something that it has nothing to do with.
Yes, I am speaking about the recent tragedy linked to Pro Wrestling, in which the media is blaming it on Steriods and Roid Rage. See whatever the ACTUAL case may be, the man had issues, and steroids or not, someone should have seen something out of the ordinary. At least any normal person would thing....Unless that man was a very good actor.
Any person who is in the limelight for any amount of time, and feels the pressure of being perfect all of the time, is bound to at least try some sort of chemical relief. And while I am not condoning it, (in fact I think it is stupid), it happens, because that is their way of dealing with anything.
And while the facts seem to all be against Pro Wrestlers, the fact of the matter is, If you look at statistics, Wrestlers have a very high mortality rate, but so does any other athlete.
Linking a wrestler to drugs and drug use is a very fine line. It is like saying that I am on an antipsychotic drug because I am out of my mind. Seriously not the case. I am out of my mind, but I am not taking anything.
Accusing someone or jumping to conclusions before you know all of the details is Ridiculous.
Yes I am rambling on and on, but death and tragedy are a part of life. And while it seems that Wrestlers may be more prone to that fact, it is not the case by any means.
Like it or not, the fact remains that Since 1985 until July 2007 almost 100 wrestlers have died UNDER the age of 65 due to various reasons.
Those "Other" Wrestling Federations
Ok, so I admit I am not as much as an avid wrestling watcher as I used to be, I keep up on the goings ons in COW, now and that is close to it.
However, I do make it a point to read other federations news every once in a while.
Now I know this post is probably a little past due, it doesnt matter I want to express my opinion on this stupid plot line.
I thought it was absolutely STUPID that they "killed off" Vince McMahon, we all know he isn't really dead, but his character is. He he had really been killed the news would have been all over the news.
I know that plot line will come back sometime in the near future and will have like an "Undertaker" type of effect where the "Dead Man" returns from the grave and yadda yadda, but am I the only one who thinks that even doing that is ridiculously stupid?
Maybe they should have commited him or something. I just think that plot line, or killing him off was one of the stupidest in the history of that federation.
But then again that is my opinion....and I am entitled to it.
Designs
I recently recieved this question:
Q:"How often you do change the designs or layouts of the sites? I noticed recently, that a lot of both COW-Wrestling, and SycoChristine. And I was wondering how often you actually change them?"
A: Quite honestly, there isnt any particular answer for that, because the sites change all of the time. But as for the design of the site, well when I can think of something better to change the site to, then I change the site. As far as Layouts go, the layouts of the site change often. I am always looking for a way to make the site either more appealing, or easier to use, or both.
There are many times when I will just stick something in the site to see how long it takes to be noticed, and then it becomes a permanant part of the site.
It all happens on a whim sometimes, I think of something to do, do it, and there you have it a change to the site.
Take for instance the COWBOARD, that recently underwent a facelift. I decided I was going to make some big changes to it, because I didnt quite like the way it looked anymore. So it changed. Of course I like the site, but sometimes there comes a point when it doesnt exactly fit to the way I want it to anymore, and so it changes.
It isnt easy to figure out what to do with it, and sometimes it takes a long time for me to actually get the design or format changed, but it happens in time.
Anyway there is no set time on when the site will be changed, it just is sometimes and for the better everytime I believe. Like when the site went from the Black Background to grey. And from one board to another when happy faces can be used. Sometimes it is the little things that make the biggest difference.
Different Look
Q: So whats up with the complete difference in the way that My site looks and the way that COW-Wrestling.com looks?
A: Well honestly, My site looks different because it is something I wanted it to look like. Yup, it was something I liked so something I put up.
And so while working on COW is much of the same, if I like it I put it on the site, well there is one bit of difference, I keep COW so it is pleasing to everyone. And not so "girly" as maybe my own site is.
But Both Sites are constantly being worked on, as the rest of my jobs.
Q: IS there a Different Look for COW in the Future?
A: Well quite possibly, I am thinking about new things to do, and new ways to do them. And that also includes maybe making changes to the way COW-Wrestling.com looks. While it is good in the way it looks now, nothing is to say that the way it does look is set in stone! It has already changed about four different times since I became webmistress of the site. :-)
Also, there have been some changes on the site already, for instance in the layout of the way that the SuperStars page is set up and the way it was. It looks a lot better now in my opinion. and it works better. So that is what counts.
Your Opinion: Your Opinion Always Counts, of course, I do not use every opinion out there, and there are always many things that go into choosing anything to put on the site.
But I would love to hear what you think!
COW-Wrestling
Ok So I have been getting a lot of flack lately because there has been a, well lets say lack, of articles written on COW as of late.
So let me tell you here, because I am not here to make excuses or anything, it is just that I have been very busy. I have a lot of things on my plate and am on my toes quite a bit.
Anyway, I am working on it, and I am hoping that 2007 is a better year for updates than 2006 was. So here's hoping.
Since August, my family has been battling a lot of colds, and respitory infections, it seems one of us gets better and another gets sick, so we are working on getting that out of the way too.
I also have been speaking with LNP who has been out because of a serious car accident, he is doing well. But is slowly recovering. It turns out that he also broke his hip in the accident, and they overlooked it for some odd reason, that is completely unexplainable. And LNP has also had to undergo a hip replacement, because his hip was severly broken. He also had to undergo an unrelated knee replacement earlier this month, because of a bad knee from a few years back, it finally just gave out on him as he is recooping from his accident.
I see that there are many new COW Stores in the works, and all of the items look terrific. I certianly recommend them!
Thank you for your patientce and understanding with my hectic schedule, and I will work harder to get the site updated more often in the coming new year.
